Hecklers Confront King Charles Over Prince Andrew Controversy
The episode took place at Clitheroe train station while the monarch was greeting well-wishers. During the interaction, a member of the public yelled, “How long have you known about Andrew?” drawing attention from those nearby.
Ignoring the disruption, King Charles carried on meeting people along the platform before proceeding to the town’s cathedral, where he was scheduled to engage with several local community organizations.
This was not an isolated occurrence. Only a week earlier, during another royal visit in Dedham, England, a man called out, “Charles, Charles – have you pressurized the police to start investigating Andrew?” prompting a similar moment of tension.
In both situations, the king declined to address the remarks directly and maintained his itinerary without deviation, continuing his official duties as planned.
Prince Andrew, now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, 65, stepped back from royal responsibilities in 2019 after his ties to Epstein became widely known. Three years later, he reached a settlement in a civil case filed by Virginia Giuffre, an American woman who alleged that Epstein trafficked her to Andrew when she was 17.
Giuffre passed away last year, and reports indicate that her forthcoming posthumous memoir contains additional allegations related to Andrew.
Amid mounting scrutiny surrounding his relationship with Epstein, Andrew also relinquished his remaining royal honors, including the title of Duke of York.
